Challenges of nursing mothers in school

The joy of being a student is enormous but being a nursing mother can be very tasking for a student. A student who nurses a child while in school, especially a baby, faces a lot of challenges. As a student mother, the question is, who will talk to her baby while she is in the class? Even when she has someone who takes care of the baby while she is in class, can the person take good care of the child without maltreating the child? It is hard for such a student to concentrate in the class. In addition, attending lectures with a baby can be very stressful as a nursing mother sometimes, leaves the lectures to take care of her child. At times she is caught in between her roles as a mother and as a student.

In view of the above, the management of the institution needs to make provision of the nursery classes for nursing mothers; where they can be close to the child/children and be sure they will be taken care of properly. Let me conclude with these question: can a nursing mother enjoy being a student and a mother? Can a nursing mother enjoy certain privileges as student? Can a nursing mother graduate with sound learning without challenges? Can there be a solution to the problem being faced by nursing mothers?
